I know what I said about taking a break. Did you really believe that, silly people?! That would be about as likely as me switching from dark roast to green tea. Or baking banana bread without chocolate chips. It just isn't done.
Here's how it's happening, beginning tomorrow, June 10, 2008. Every day for the next, undisclosed period of time, I plan to post a new bag. If you like it, and you want it, wave your little number like the seed-chewing old guys do at the olden-days farm auctions. Except I won't be able to see your number waving, so it will work better to leave me a comment or e-mail indicating how much the bag is worth to you. If the blog doesn't accept your comment, and you e-mail, then I will communicate the increment change at the blog myself. The bid begins at $25.00 and must go up in full numbers. The bids will close daily at 6:oo pm, unless otherwise noted. I reserve the right to extend that time at my own discretion, but the auction will conclude within the day. The following day there will be another bag posted, and we can play again.
Remember that this is a fund-raiser, and people who are desparate for food and aid are the ones benefitting from all of this. This is not so much about getting a new bag as it is about joining hearts and hands and doing something proactive about injustice and hunger in our world.
**For those of you wondering what time of day the bag will appear, just remember that I get up between 5:00 and 6:00 am. It is during those two glorious hours that I endure no whining, no puking, no endless diaper or drink service, and no endless pawing. That sounds like a really good time to put up a picture of a Darfur bag.

That's a sweet idea!
nice!!
Great! Can't Wait!
Good idea. I was wondering if you were going to move to such a format for selling your bags, given the madness of the last batch.
Great idea - it's going to be fun to watch!
So glad I already got my bag. I'll definitely enjoy watching this madness.
i'm too poor to do this....
How do I bid on the current bag of the day?
Has the bidding started on the June 20th bag or am I too late?
Carla- daily, new bags appear between 5:00 and 7:00 am. People leave a comment including the price they are willing to pay, and their name. Bids increase throughout the day until the stroke of 6:00 pm, central standard time. At that time, the highest bidder receives info that they will get the bag. That person then e-mails me and we work out donation and bag transfer details.
Wonderful idea to help people in need,I would start a bid on next bag at 50.00.
Awake and waiting gotta have one...what a super idea to help those less fortunate...55.00
