If the outside of this bag doesn't sell itself; the inside will. Thanks to OP for great cargo style pockets- two large, one zippered (for your top secret stuff) and one more under the flap.
The second "thank you" goes out to some industrious Mennonite woman who immaculately pieced together these brown quilt squares; then bequeathed them to her worldly daughter who then carelessly donated it to the thrift shop. That patchwork never made it to blanket status, but it looks fantastic as the flap on a Darfur bag!
The body is made up of the most delicious shade of chocolatey brown. Again, I must assume that some none-waster-of -the-world's-resources painstakingly recovered her own living room furniture, then donated the remnants of the brown upholstery to the thrift shop. I am truly grateful.
One side of her shoulder strap is a lovely brown stripe that I can only speculate used to be someone's idea for a curtain. Bad idea for a curtain, great idea for a strap.
Here's a look at those pockets that you already know all about.

Joyce here, transferring a comment from my inbox to the blog: The comment is from Jane.
Dear Joyce
I cannot post a comment other than as anonymous, but I'll go as high as 100$ for that bag you posted this morning! I wish I could go higher, and might. It's lovely. Worth every penny and you are a gem for doing this.
Thank you, for posting for me, Joyce.
Each comment I leave anywhere is accompanied by a prayer that Google will be forced to accept!

PS Then there's getting those letters right!
wow. that is some high bidding. good luck!
Desperation, a great cause and a great lady behind it...
Jane
$100!!!!
Holy crimole, glad i got mine early!
Worth every penny though, lucky Jane.
Beautiful beautiful bag. Reminds me of a quilt my mom made my dad. But she didn't know what she was doing, so she sewed front and back together and then sent me inside the quilt to sort out the batting. Suggestion: perhaps you should indicate what time zone you are in. I tend to think the whole world operates on Pacific time, but alas, it does not.
go Joyce go!!
Mel
$500 for the bag, a hug, and a sample of that banana bread!
holy chit! i thought we had capped at $100.00, but obviously not
If JWB thinks I'm topping that, he's shot somewhere!
Giggle! I will try again!
Jane
Now, before everyone runs for the hills and never , ever darkens the door of Darfur blog.... I DON'T THINK THIS WILL HAPPEN OFTEN!!!!!
And, we will have a grab bag day again, too.
Congrats Joyce! 500$! Look at what your selfless fantastic great work has done. I am very poud of you. Enjoy this whirlwind. Joelle
ps. Looking forward to geting my bag now. It`s exciting!
It's only 4:46 pm, who know what could happen by 6 pm ....
Holy cow!! You're the new Louis Vitton!
5:59 pm
I hope that no one has sent me an e-mail that I cannot access, as my laptop went completely berserk at 5 pm and is nearly gobbled whole by some sort of virus. Now, remember that you only have to bid in whole dollar increments.... not hundreds....
so, $501.00 anyone?
$500? i am going to stop using mine and just hang it on the wall as it would cost more than anything else i have hanging up!!
really? No one is going to challenge the guy who killed George Washington?!
Sold!
GWB; your banana bread is cooling on the counter as we speak.
You are a peach.
and the rest of us wait for more bags tomorrow...way to go Joyce!
Um...I mean Abraham Lincoln...he he he...
Well, Joyce and jwb.... my best guess tells me that "Mush with You" will nourish around 400 victims of genocide from Darfur in a refugee camp in Chad for one day. Amazing.
way to go Joycie. i will be over in the early morning with some new fabrics i picked up at the village today
Hey Joyce!

I am still out here and I haven't forgotten you or our 'chance' meeting in the mall.
