"Closet Party Girl"

Now, these photos came up somewhat overexposed, as my camera is at camp and my sis was good enough to let me borrow hers. Suffice to say that the picture does not do justice. This is a very, very fun bag that has received comments from many a wanderer through my cramped "studio".
This bag makes me think of a bunch of people and places. Gloria (yes, she has a good eye for fabric), brought me the gold piece. It has a low pile, and used to be a bedspread. Imagine spreading that in your love nest!! I have to credit her for that fun, colourful bit at the top of the flap as well. It's like Hansel and Gretel without the witch.
Brian's sister betrothed me the swirly bright pink, and the daisies for the strap.
The turquoise one that you see is a piece that I had hung on the wall of my sewing room for at least a year because I so enjoyed looking at it. You get to enjoy that piece of embroidery on its corner.

The pockets are pillowslips. But they actually came unsewn. I guess you could get them like that in the day- kind of like craft kits from Michaels?!
Under the flap and down below is a wildly fun piece that I found locally at the thrift shop. It is sort of dragony, all in pinks and purples, blues and greens.

Going somewhere for the August long weekend? This may be your last chance to get a receptacle for that sunscreen (not that you'd need it in our parts.... We've got clouds for that.)

If you guys are upset that I visit the blog and bid I am more than willing to retract my bid of $45.
I agree other ladies should have a chance at a bag too. So "Anonymous" for you I will retract today.
But this is a fun outlet for me as a stay at home mom of three girls.
But I cannot wait till next week and see what Joyce has on the menu!
I love bidding and being able to help out Joyce's cause.

P.S "Anonymous", the first two wins:Contour Plowing, and THe Boler were given away as gifts to very deserving young ladies...so technically I am only "One Bag Full" as the only bag I actually own is "Chubby Crysanthemum".
:)

So I willbe back next week to win myself an alternate bag, A girl cannot always be seen wearing the same purse/bag! Ha! Ha!

I need this for my 6 week old adopted daughter Molly. It's got lots of bright colours, pinks and such which are more suited for little girls.

I'm also sizing up the daily inventory we need for her - 10 bottles, nipples, liners. 1 litre of formula, 25 diapers ( on a good day ), 2 soothers, 5 outfits ( 3 cooler ones, 2 sleepers )burp clothes, baby wipes ( home made & environmentally friendly of course ). Yep, she needs a bag just like this. $ 65.00

P.S. before someone tells me, I realize how utterly shameless that was using my daughter to pull at your heart strings! lol

Did I mention that I may have to break open her piggy bank and steal from her college fund to buy this bag? I did it again didn't I?

Spoke with Molly and she's promised to sleep through the night if we get this bag! $ 100.00

oh, Molly-dad. Do whatever it takes!! Babies who sleep at night are quite an anomoly.

Molly's dad said...

Well I'm trying Joyce, but maybe if your designer bags weren't such a hot commodity this would go a little smoother! lol

hey, papa of Molly. You've just got a sleeping baby on your hands. Can I baby-sit for you?

E-mail me at re-joyce@mts.net for details on delivery.
