Changeable

Changeable. Sometimes that's a hope I cling to. That what we now consider to be horribly normal will not always be so.

Changeable- the bag is a testimony to its title. The bag that was made from a bag? No, really. That gorgeous mirror and embroidery work is salvaged from a thrift shop bag that was just too small to be practical as a grocery tote. A denim jumper forms the body. Looks better there as a body than on a person's body, I'm thinking. The adjustable strap is Patti's dress, the interior is formed from Loretta's pants and vest.

And that gorgeous side panel pocket? Patti's shirt. That girl has some serious style sense- beats me why she's never on Rachel Ray, or So You Think You Can Dance, or Steven and Chris. Weird. Maybe because she's tied up outdoors feeding her 25 or 26 sled dogs.

" Changeable. changeableness, Able or likely to change or become different; turning from one thing to something else."

Reminds me of what Jesus said about being transformed by the renewal of ones' mind. It's true. It's pretty hard to change anything, even on the outside, until the mind adapts to a new neural pathway. It's a process, and a hope. For you, for me, and for Darfur.

Anyhoo, bid here until 8 pm, cst. Leave comments endlessly.

Joyce good morning I laughed out loud when I heard you describe the body being clothed in denim. Perhaps you should have called it homeschooling mom. Don't we all wear them?

ya know what, Mary? I have a feeling she may think that you are Laura, and that she lives close to Laura. Poor gal. Doesn't know that I have FOUR sisters.......

oh, and Rosa- I considered calling it the "Unschooling Bag" but decided people might take offense. You know me-- always the middle of the road politically correct one...

aren't there some goats or llamas you should be outside milking? or making into cheese?

Anonymous said...

yep, you are probably right Joyce. You told me her name and I forgot. sorry Mary. It's not you.

Hi. Laura here. Guess I've lurked long enough. LOVE the bag. Considered bidding against Mary. But remembered that I have two fabulous quilt related trips in the next two weeks and will HAVE TO throw money around wildly there. So if Mary gets it, I might visit her sometime, and try to ease out the door with it under my arm.

So anonymous, who are you? Are you the fabulous sheep lady who I hope to meet soon? If so, I'm so sad I'll miss you this Saturday. I'll be down in Cutbank, Montana, at a fun quilt party.

Oh I'm sorry too. I wondered who this might be, but, alas, it's all about Laura and not me -- oh no, it's about Joyce -- oh, oooooops, it's about the bag, or is it about Darfur?? I think I'll go finish my pasta sauce that I screwed up yesterday trying to multi-task. I CAN'T multi-task -- I am so NOT like my dear sister Joyce who multi-tasks so well. I am a clearly FOCUSED individual. Love you Joyce, Your Schwester Mary that doesn't live close to "anonymous".

Yep Laura. It's me. I won't be in the Hat until the 18th. But I do want to meet you. Now Joyce I'm watching to see if sneaky is at the computer. I want to slide in before her. Oh, and Mary..I'd like to meet you also and also you Joyce. Now, I want to meet you all!!

The highest bid up to and including 8:00 (blogger time...you can see the time of your bid right at the bottom of your comment)takes it.

Okay. Just a sidebar. today's viewing seems to follow a pattern that makes me want to make guesses about us that admire/lurk/shop etc.
we're busy.
we have a bit of time in am.
can check after work... but need to tend to meal duties etc... but given the 8 pm, we try to make it back to buy, cheer etc.
(check times on posts)
Has Joyce chosen the optimal deadline time?
B.B.

Just as a sidebar from my perspective. I would prefer if after I bid Joyce end the bidding process and the bag go directly to me! I hope you enjoy the bag sneaky! Next time!
