Africa Wednesday! Let's Go Tanzen(ia)

I thought it would be a good idea to attempt Africa Wednesdays this year. We've seen this fabric before. Its a piece from Tanzania, and what's fun about it is all the different looks it can take on depending on where I cut the rectangle for the flap.

The edge pieces are cut from an MCC rescued placemat. They show a lot of fun details.

The brown body is super soft- a great therapy if you're feeling stressed. Imagine your wallet wrapped up in a cozy winter sweater.

This bag measures 10.5 inches deep and 13 inches across. That classifies it as a handbag in my world.

The interior shows another interesting feature. I found some shirts at a thrift shop in Brandon this summer that were made in Tanzania. I used the bodice for the pocket; which actually forms two pockets on the one side. Another pocket is on the other side of the interior. Three inside pockets in total. There are no side panel pockets on this bag because I did not want to lose the graphics on the fabric; so I added a pocket to the front of the bag, just beneath the flap.
Bids as usual until 8 pm, cst.

P.S. My verification work is pillymor -- I'm eating more and more pillies of echinecia so I don't get the bug that Laura & Harry left in our house!!!!! So far, so good (Knock on wood).

Hey, Mary. Maybe you already have the bug. You need to bid UP from 50, not down. I guess you can't be beautiful AND smart ALL the time (smile). Love you.

Maybe you are like the mysterious case of Benjamin Buttons and you move in reverse?!

Shauna- I had no idea that today was Ethiopian christmas! That is truly fitting. What I should do is just fake that I totally knew that... and planned it this way.

Do you all think that verification words are getting more phonetic and more interesting? Because mine is flummie. That's a great word- flummie.

oh, and "hi" to "new to bidding"! We always like new blood to freshen the place up a little...

and exploding lego? how cute! (i mean how grown up and manly!)

Yeah.... I should have explained that. let's go Tanzen... refers to the german word tanzen which means dancing.

So.... Let's go Dancing!

Except that if you were raised mennonite as i was.... it simply isn't possible. All rhythmic motion was shamed out of us at a very tender age.

Sometimes pilates works though; could we classify that as a type of dance?

Ok so here's Schwester Mary -- hmmm I did not realize that I bid lower -- cheapscate that I am... sitting in the hot tub last night I wondered if I got the bag.....little did I know. Oh well, next week is Africa Wed. I'll have to try again

anyone who throws around words like "hottub" shouldn't be talking "cheapskate" in the same sentence?!
