Loretta

I am kicking myself.
When Loretta, the one time mayor of Flin Flon's wife sent me a large box of fabric to re-use, she had nifty notes pinned to things with history.
Like the flap of this bag, for example. I know that it is a bandana/scarf. I know that it is batik. I know that I kept the little yellow slip of paper that was pinned to it, telling more of its history. I know that slip of paper is somewhere in this room. I know that it dates back to the 60's or 70's. but there was more. (Loretta. if you still read, will you help us out?!)

In any case, I absolutely adore it.

It only seemed fitting to pare a bandana with a great little summer top.
That top turned into a pocket just beneath the flap.

The body is fashioned from a really soft, almost velveteen feeling fabric.

I took advantage of the orange in the batik to use some great orange in the shoulder strap. Now, not all of you are as passionate about brown and orange as I am. But I trust that some are!

The fringe at the bottom was one of those heart-stopping finds at a thrift shop a long time ago.
I never tire of it, although I will eventually run out of it.

Inside out. More shorts pockets that are better served as bag pockets.

And one more pocket on the other side.

There you have it.
This bag couldn't make me more happy.
She measures 11" across and 9.5" down.
Please begin bidding at a min. $25~ Cdn.
This auction remains open until Thursday, May 6, 2010, at 9:30 pm, cst.
