"Cabbage"
"Thanks for the cabbage".
That's what my niece used to say when I paid her for baby-sitting. Scrambling to urbanize myself to the word's new nuance, I aimed not embarrass myself further by glancing around for the pot of borscht or pan of holopshi.
Turns out "cabbage" means "cash". Who knew.
Friday of hippy week. This bag brought to you by: a ziploc bag of quilt squares that I bought at Morris thrift shop for $0.25; the remnants of Arianna's home ec project; a "Hello Kitty" hanky (unused, I venture to say...) from Niverville thrift; that floral sheet from Brandon yard sale; and the strap comes mostly from an anonymous doner. Anonymous because we had zero luck in meeting, and she graciously put her donation on her deck, which my husband graciously went and picked up for me. He's kind of like the Value Village truck that way....
So, thanks for the cabbage.
Last weekend's deposits and donations brought us up to $8,262.00.
That's a whole lotta borscht.
Leave your numbers here until 6 pm, cst.

Very funky bag Joyce. I'm not much for reading the fine print, but now that I know, I'll start the bidding at $45. I've noticed that several hippie week bags have pockets made from that flowered sheet that you made button flowers out of. I'm hoping that you don't use it all up...I've been coveting a button flowers bag.
Hippie week has been fun and the bags amazing as always. My bid for today is $50.00
hippie: a person, esp. of the late 1960s, who rejected established institutions and values and sought spontaneity, direct personal relations expressing love, and expanded consciousness, often expressed externally in the wearing of casual, folksy clothing and of beads, headbands, used garments, etc.
I've always felt that I could embrace the hippie lifestyle, but my wife says I'm as dull as beige paint!
Maybe this bag will be the great equalizer!
$55.00
I just have to say that I received my "Delightful" bag tucked between my doors this morning and that I'm kind of speechless. I'll try and speak nonetheless. The pictures hardly to the bags justice. I pulled it out of the parcel and...it looked wonderful...felt wonderful...smelled wonderful..the detail was wonderful..I could go on. This is a birthday gift for a friend. I'm pretty sure she will love it. The colors and textures and this whole project would be right up her ally. But, truthfully, it's going to be hard to part with. How do you part with them all Joyce?
Thanks for all of it Joyce, the idea, the time, the physical and emotional investment, the caring, the making a differnce. And to top it all off, it came in the mail super fast. And oh yeah, thanks too, for a new addiction...I will be baaack!
