One would think that after a blog break, it would be impossible to sleep through one's alarm and miss the early morning bag post.
But, that's exactly what happened.
well, I have no idea what it goes to show.
So, I'll go ahead and show a medium sized messenger bag decorated in buttons and fun colours. In January, we need to create our own pockets of colour. Why complain about nature when you can make your own flower garden that's not going to mind when you forget to water it?
About the bag: That's a pocket just beneath the flap. Many of these upholstery samples come with a grommet- used to hang a collection of samples in the furniture store. I usually cut around them, but there is something sort of fun about them, so I left the grommet in that piece. Now you know.
This bag employs a number of hoarded bits. I've always loved that plaid patchwork- a fabric that was sold when my firstborn was a baby. I bought it in pastels and made her a crazy outfit when she was just a little scooter. This piece in primary colours came from the local thrift shop. I was happy to take it off their hands.
The inside has two small, and two medium sized pockets. The fabric for those are a)a fun purple dress that I've borrowed out of numerous times now, and b)a seriously delightful splashy colourful bit that I think came from the lovely and generous Mrs Richert.
(For a closer look at any of these photos, simply double click on the image)
Dimensions: pretty much 11" by 11".
This bag will remain available for two days. I don't know how many of you have fallen off the blog watching wagon with my erratic attendence. So, please offer your bids from now until Wednesday, January 6, 2010. $25- Cdn is the place to start.
Thanks for your patience...

Your artistic inspiration... refreshed & renewed yet again. "Ever Blooming" is a wonderful sunny creation!! Congrats!
Always a fan
Shhh!
HE's busy cleaning my old junk out of the basement Joyce. You're not supposed to let him hear. I'm having trouble resisting...
Ginny just wants to ditto on what 'always a fan' said.
great bag - and you have such an endless well of color/creativity/artistry ... it just keeps coming.
Ginny
Okay, I showed the bag to my husband last night and he immediately called me a hippie. Don't think he meant it as a compliment, but I certainly took it as such, so now I want the bag even more. I think I've still got the winning bid, right: $45?
Still looking for a peace bag but I'll take this apparently hippie-ish one in the meantime, if my bid holds up ... although surely it won't hold up. :)
Karen
oh those guys. What do THEY know?
I needed that peace sign reminder though. Although maybe I should manipulate you? keep pretending to make it and make a lot of other hippy bags in the meanwhile, just to keep you buying?
(ooh. mean.)
Hey Ginny- you know that I hold you up as one of my Endlessly Creative Heroines. Me- I stick to one art form- YOU never stop. (Shouldn't you market this stuff and get rich enough to send your kids to college?!) Where have we heard that before...
Wow, another beauty. Oh well, I am done Christmas shopping - maybe I should start for next year.
Tempting, oh so tempting.
Long time visitor - first time bidder.
Ever Blooming - beautiful
I bid $46
Ms. C
Joyce, it is beautious.
Kathy
Ms C. That warms my heart- and so nice to meet you. Sometimes when I've stepped away from the blog to.. oh... parent, or do Christmas, or remain employed, or some other niggling detail; I start to wonder if its me, Tanya, Karens, and a coupla Jennifers left around here. (not that that's a BAD thing; ladies. Please. I neeeeeeeeeed you.
So, e-mail re-joyce@mts.net with your identity and location. Then I can help you figure out delivery.
(and that wouldn't be our Caddywumpus either. Cuz she has bid before.... oooooh, the tension, the tension!)
Congrats first time bidder. I meant to come back to try to win the bag. Best laid plans, and all that.
And, Joyce, please feel free to manipulate me with all kinds of hippie bags! I'm an easy target.
Karen
