Pussy Willow

(AKA "Spot The Kitty")
If you don't "get" people and their pets, then I apologize. I never get tired of my pets. Except when I do. But I usually find them quite charming and always entertaining.

So when the puss kept stalking my photo op, trying to make herself a nest on top of that branch- well, "Pussy Willow" it became.

If you're not a pet lover, you just might be a branch lover.
A silvery branch, all glittery like the hoar frost I've become so fond of. To fully celebrate, I sacrificed gladly, generously, unselfishly shared four of my Special Collection buttons- old, glass buttons. Yesterday at the antique sale in the mall, I noticed a woman selling four glass buttons for $4.50. I nearly choked, but then felt gleeful about my own, more affordable collection.

Which I am now kicking and screaming unselfishly sharing with you.

Are they not splendid?!

After some committed digging, I found the perfect silvery grey upholstery fabric to make up the body. Kind of classy for a junker; no?

Another upholstery sample makes two small pockets beneath the flap.
For those really important people who need to be phoned at any time, at any cost.

(mew)

Brian sacrificed his best work shirt so that you could have pockets.
Two of his best work shirts, actually.
Three on this side...

.... And this side is nifty. I used the shirt front to form a top secret, highly protected pocket that buttons closed. Keep your embarrassing stuff in there. Hemorrhoid cream. Depends briefs. Whatever.

Nifty. Almost spy-like.

(I actually put the cat in there. It'll be a nice surprise for you when you open up that Express Post envelope)
* 12" wide, 12.5" deep.
Let's see if I can get the date right today- Hope that dyscalculia will hold off for a few more minutes..... Auction concludes today, Monday, March 15, 2010 at 9:30 pm, cst. (How did I do? Message me immediately if I scrambled those all up)
Remember that your bids translate into food and water on the other side of the world.
And YOU get to look like a million bucks! (for less than a million).
*
Meanwhile, get outside and search for some other pussy willows. We actually get spring this year. A giant environmental apology for last winter, last spring, and last summer. None of which actually showed up. It was all London Fog and Deep Freeze.
*
This year, we're prepared. If nature doesn't deliver, YOU can have your very own Pussy Willow which will never, ever go away.

You could send me the cat, if Corrine wins the bag.

Another beauty - the bag, that is. I ALWAYS admire the cat, when she appears.

ooooh, I love the smell of blooooooood. A good fight.

After some of the stress I'm enduring around here, I'd like to watch someone scrap! (its all good- just stuff piling up and dumb, unexpected things happening)

let me see if I've got the score right- corrine- doesn't want the cat; wants the pussy willow.

Little Miss Sunshine (Love that movie)- working. She should stop. I find that work interferes with my liesure time a great deal. But she's still committed, and definitely in the game.

Janice- you've confused me. Are you Mariatu Janice? Sounds like you. Besides, you love Floey the cat, so you're a keeper, no matter what.

Joi- clutching her own branch bag, and sighing deeply. Press on.

DDae- happy as well. And content.

And an excellent testimonial by Dancing2fools. (can I pay your thru paypal, or do you prefer a money order?!) The bag DOES look better in real. The lighting on the photos wasn't ideal.

And is it: "Dancing to fools" OR "Dancing. Two fools."

And then there's Mother Theresa's apprentice. does the juicy fruit enhance the contraception in any way? And who says that the Mother didn't indulge once in a while beneath that habit?? (Please, oh please. Your standard is really much too high, MT!)

BEAUTIFUL!!! I love the detailed-stitching you put on the branch, and the glass buttons are so classy!

Corrine said...

I wish Joyce was on here now to find out who gets it! My heart is pounding!

Corrine said...

I know my 80 is out it came in too late. I love this bag and I hope I won but if not, I sincerely hope you enjoy it!

Dancin' Momma said...

Its too funny we kept posting the same prices too. LOL Great minds think alike!

oh my...this was entertaining to watch:)

Anyone know Joyce's number? I just love this bag and it would be perfect for everyday use and for a diaper bag. But especially for when we go pick up our son in Ethiopia!
I am dying to know who wins it!
Maybe she has enough fabric for two and we could both get one! I am willing to wait for mine if she does. As long as I had it for sometime in late April.

I agree, please let there be more gorgeous rose fabric!!!!

I have no idea how she will call this one... LOL

Corrine said...

I thought the opposite. If it is 9:29 your bid shows up on my computer first but 9:30 mine shows up first. So I thought it could be your 75 or my 76.

Dancin' Momma said...

Yes, I deleted my post because I had it backwards... just too on edge, typing too fast. :)

Corrine said...

I've been going back to see if this has happened before. That way we would know. I haven't found one yet though.

joyce said...

I must be driving you all nuts, being upstairs vacuuming and missing all this drama. (does it count that I mumbled, rather loudly, "SOMETIMES I GET REALLY SICK OF WORKING ALL THE TIME"?!

How do I call this??!!

I'm hitting publish, then reading all this over again. and then commenting again...

Corrine said...

I would pay 85! LOL

Corrine said...

$90! I know bidding is over I just LOVE it!!!!!

joyce said...

You're right. This has never happened before. Exact same times, exact same numbers. Of course, I know what I WANT to say-- that I have more of the grey and will whip up another one.

but I'm almost 100% sure that I don't.

Let me say this-- we will figure out how both of you will get a branch bag.

I need some time to figure this one out... and go look at my fabrics...

Corrine said...

Do you have enough for 2 Joyce?

Dancin' Momma said...

Yes is there a chance you can do another one with this rose fabric???

Corrine said...

I was wondering if this had happened before. I was looking back and I was somewhere in 2009 and I still hadn't found it anywhere.

Dancin' Momma said...

Sitting on pins and needles. :)

Corrine said...

Me too! LOL! I love the rose fabric and the silver too! It is so perfect! sigh

Dancin' Momma said...

Ok Corrine, you take the bag. I LOVE it, but my little guy is already home from Ethiopia and I remember how important therapy shopping was while I waited. This bag I know will bring you happiness during this tough time while you wait to hold and kiss your son.

Still praying that Joyce has more of this beautiful fabric.

Corrine said...

Funny, I thought it was Little Miss Sunshine I would be bidding against. She said she had a plan and I wondered if that was her plan to wait until the very end. LOL

Corrine said...

When did you get your son? How exciting! We are waiting for his travel visa and then we go!!!!

Anonymous said...

PLEASE make more branches bags....I'm still hoping for one too!!:)
~Bethany

Dancin' Momma said...

We got caught in the Imagine bankruptcy. After a very scary week, we had him home last July. He is amazing, almost 18 months old now, and just such a beautiful spirit. :)

Enjoy the bag and here is hoping for a speedy visa and safe travels!

Dancin' Momma said...

Now if the bag had a dragon on it... well there is no way I could walk away. :) I keep hoping Joyce will do a dragon bag instead of a bird. :)

Corrine said...

We were in the same boat but without a referral. Small world!

Corrine said...

I feel bad about you walking away. I know you love it too! Are you sure you don't want to let Joyce decide. I also loved the bag called branches from a few bags ago. I didn't bid though because I wanted a bigger one than that. This bags size actually. If she could make me one of those in this size I would be equally happy.
What do you think Joyce?

Dancin' Momma said...

Its ok, I hesitated to hit post a whole lot but like I said, I feel good about who it is going to and why. Not that I will not sit on pins and needles hoping Joyce has more of this beautiful rose fabric, and those button...oh those buttons!!!

Corrine said...

Honestly, I love Branches too. Maybe she has more beautiful buttons.

joyce said...

I am hunting through fabrics before I say anything more. I want you both to have it, but I don't have the wisdom of Solomon.

Can you be patient, and let's communicate more?

ok
i have tried to impress with my wifely submissions and switched to MT in hopes that those who can stay on their computers until the ungodly hour of 930 pm would take pity
have you guys any idea that when you know you are #12 in comments at 430pm and the number is at 53 later that you are, once again, out on a limb without a branch!
Joyce i now you will work out the fairest deal for the 2 lovely mom's who are clearly more deserving.i'll keep trying.Would this be the time to buy a black berry so i too can stay in the game ?
