Even the pockets make you want to go outside.
Those buttons look downright playful and give your eye plenty of places to roam. Kind of like a butterfly garden with a large quilted butterfly coming in for a landing from underneath.
Just for the fun of it; here's what gets a new life in "summer pickin's".
*green and orange picnic blanket, purchased secondhand some years ago because it reminded me of a blanket we had in the barn for the kittens when we were kids.
*hand-stiched green quilt that you've heard me go on about in past bags.
*the butterfly quilt; decorated with that
*red, green, and orange quilt bit underneath the flap that my friend Gloria found for me
*a floral bandana; a doll's dress; and a kitchen apron
*chennille bedspread
*a splashy bunch of green and yellow buttons.
Thanks to those of you who got here bright and early. These words are arriving quite a few hours later in the morning, as I'm on holidays and did not get out of bed at 6:00.
No duh.

Welcome back Joyce, I don't know about anyone else, but I certainly missed you and your bags. I was going into withdrawl. $30
Ditto Tanya!
I missed my Joyce fix too, checking out her comments and her daily bag.
Welcome back from vacation Joyce, I hope it was a good one...you certainly deserved the R&R!
$50
CarlaG :)
welcome home dear, can't wait for the camp chronicles on your other page
Welcome back - Malakai sure misses you! See you in a couple weeks.
Mel
Know what? just for today go back to Tanya @ $30....I have a screaming 5month old and it looks like it is going to be an al day-er!
I will be back tomorrow morning to check out the bag of the day then! (Look out!) HA! HA!
CarlaG
So the bid is still Tanya's at $30
Love it... $45
ok. it looks like carla had it at 50.... not 30.. so i say 60....
confusing, but you were right the first time, Shar. Carla's original bid of $50 was retracted, so your bid of $45 stands.
sorry about the babe, Carla.
Brilliant bag -- I love the handstitched quilts - if I ever take up quilting, handstitching is the only way. And re-purposing, of course. How do you find the patience to sew on all those buttons?
Hey Joyce! Love the bags, I ESPECIALLY loved the rick-rack one that is sadly gone to a different home. I found her too late. So I'm going to lie in wait and pounce on the next earthy bag to come along. This one is quite nice, tho, but I will be patient and wait for the next one...or the next one...
Joyce was right, I had to retract my bidding for today...I have a 5 month old little girl as well as a s a 5 and 7 year old girl, and the baby seems to be an early teether and is extremely fussy today. I will be lucky if I get in a meal and a shower...I am sure you girls know whatr that is like!
CarlaG :)
P.S I WILL be back tomorrow!
Jennie- no patience required, as I do have an oddly passionate relationship with buttons. It is more of a labour of love for me.
Just amazing joyce!!! I missed you!
Thank you, pluck-ster. That's awfully nice of you.
wm- earthy is my fave (one of) so, you'll always see brown and orange resurface here. Esp since one of my "boler bag" recipients sent me a really great piece of brown and orange cord. I can't wait to use it.
This bag is gorgeous Joyce!
Ha ha - just noticed the Guess Who card in the background of one picture. I have weeds and mole hills in my pics.
Shar, you've got yourself summer pickin's for $45.00. Please e-mail me at re-joyce@mts.net to leave me your contact info.
Thank you!
Those darn kids dawdled at the table and I missed my chance :(
