Devotion

Devotion.
Great love. The force that propels us to do things that we are too tired and too grumpy to do. And I'm not talking about bags now. I'm talking about the big challenges - that loving God means loving people. The annoying ones, stinky ones, demanding ones, the ones that rip your heart out. Like our kids, for example.

And that dog. She is annoyingly devoted. Usually directly on top of whatever fabric I am trying to transform into a bag for Darfur. Or curled up in my lap that doesn't stay still for very long. She forgives me always.

The bag. Purdy. Shades of grey, camel, and a smokey turquoisey greenish colour. The completion of this bag did require some devotion on my part as well, since my faithful henkel sewing scissors have officially quit cutting through fabric. They are dull and in desparate need of sharpening; and the sharpening fella lives one town over which is difficult with a house full of pre-schoolers and no car. So, I hauled my bits of fabric over to my mother's in the evening and did my cutting over there.

Mothers. Talk about devotion.

That's Becky's dress on the inside, reincarnated as pockets. Becky is the cutest little muffin of a mommy with the cutest little cherub children. Highly devoted.

Know any moms who might need a wet kiss or a crushing hug from you today?
Go get them a puppy.

Or, if you like the concept of devotion, or even just a bag called Devotion, leave your name and number here. Now that winter is coming upon us, and some of our Darfur blog visitors are in different time zones, the bids will remain open until 8 pm, cst.
