Joyce, I would hazard a guess that your achievement is unsurpassed. Not many people in the world could have singlehandedly sewn their way to Darfur to wage war on hunger. Your inspired, determined, efforts have created a touchstone for many to do more than they ever thought possible! You have made an enormous difference! BRAVO ***** J.A.
Thank you JA. You have the kindest words. It is only singlehanded in the fact that my fingers did the sewing. Without this overwhelmingly generous support, going at $25.00 per bag would have taken a bit longer.
And now I await some sort of direction. Not that I am suggesting I would stop. But i feel something inside; a sort of longing.
God only knows what comes next! :)thanks Anna, I'm glad you've come aboard.
Perhaps a wider audience than your blog can reach..... "Feeding the World One Bag At A Time"...... by Joyce H. A marriage of your God given talents, sewing & writing! Time to get published, dive into the deep end. Sell your story, raise even more money. I would be happy to order my book now! J.A.
Great idea about a book JA! Joyce, you are a great writer - it would sell - just get that Free Press guy back out to interview you about it and get the word out! If you are looking for another sewing project how about "crib size" patchwork quilts? I'm sure you have the fabric "). And maybe it would be more straightforward than bags but just as lovely? (not sure if easier, as I can't even sew on a button). Keep up the good work - I check the site daily for the bags and to read you thoughts/comments du jour! Congrats on everything you've achieved.
*picture a heart glowing, enthusiasm sparking, seratonin rising* I thought the fireworks looked pretty darned spectacular! JA and A- That is a dream so big and so wonderful that it seems too much to hope for. But I will hope... I don't know HOW to write a book. And I think all of my thoughts have already been said on my blogs! But I do hope...
This week off has been "just what the doctor ordered"- I've had interactions and conversations that were rich and healing. Not that my questions are answered, or that equilibrium has been entirely achieved. But still...
You think we should celebrate? Think? Are you kidding me? Of course we should celebrate! If anything is celebration worthy this is. This is a beautiful milestone and I am so grateful to have been drawn into it.
