Quilt on a Mission

At the local thrift shop some time ago; Brian and I spotted a lovely, new-with-old-fabrics quilt. Of course I wanted it, but knew that my house could go without heat indefinitely with just the quilts and chenille that I have already collected over the years.

Brian talked me into buying it anyway- pointing out that each square section was the perfect size for the front of a large messenger bag.

He was right.

Combined with bits of a corduroy skirt; an upholstery remnant; and a couple of has-been neckties-- voila! a bag.

(here it is turned entirely inside out- it gives you a much better view of how the pockets are laid out.)

Buttons scattered across the vintage pieces add some texture and dimension.

This bag measures ~15" x 14". Big enough for a school bag, diaper bag, or just a lotta stuff.
We'll start the bids at $25- Cdn and leave it open until 9:30 pm, cst.

I guess I have to go for $30 then. And I'll be home in Manitoba this weekend (maybe even Blunderview to visit a new baby), so I could even pick it up!
